Construction software for subcontractors

Specialty contractors run crews, not just paperwork. Trakend gives subcontractors daily reports, JHAs, T&M tickets, change orders, pay applications and a crew time clock in one app, and when your GC uses Trakend, you join their projects free.

Built around how subs get paid

For a subcontractor, the margin on a job is decided by three things: getting extra work documented and signed, getting change orders approved, and getting pay apps in on time with the right numbers. Most project software is built for the GC's side of the table and priced per user, so a sub with 40 people in the field can't afford to put everyone on it.

Trakend is priced by flat plan, not per user, and the field-to-billing workflow is the core of the product, not an add-on.

Two ways subs use Trakend

On your GC's projects, for free. If your general contractor runs their jobs in Trakend, they invite your company and you work inside their project at no cost. You can view the drawings and add your own markups, submit RFIs and submittals, fill out JHAs for your crews, plan your crews in the weekly planner, and submit your change orders, schedule of values and pay applications to the GC. You only see the projects the GC shares with you, and other subs never see your paperwork.

With your own Trakend account. Run your own company in Trakend with your own projects, crews, field reports and billing, and every feature on every plan. When a GC who also uses Trakend adds you to a project, you accept it, enter your contract amount and job number, and a linked project is created in your account. If you work for several GCs, you can switch between your own company and each GC's portal.

A time clock for your crews

Self-performing subs live and die by labor hours. Trakend's time clock lets crews punch in on a phone or the foreman's tablet, checks punches against a GPS geofence around each jobsite, applies lunch and overtime rules (including a California preset), and exports approved pay periods to Gusto, ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, Foundation, Sage 100 Contractor, Spectrum and more. Time-clock-only workers don't use a paid seat.

Pricing that works for field-heavy companies

Plans are flat monthly prices: $29.99 for 2 users, $149 for 10, $349 for 30, $549 for 50 and $999 for unlimited users. Every plan includes every feature, with a 30-day free trial. See pricing, or compare Trakend with per-user field apps like Raken.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trakend free for subcontractors?

Working on a general contractor's projects in Trakend is free for subcontractors. If you want to run your own company's projects, crews and billing in Trakend, you need your own plan, starting at $29.99/month.

Can other subcontractors see my change orders and pay apps?

No. On a GC's project, each subcontractor sees only their own company's change orders, pay apps and paperwork.

Can I submit pay applications to my GC through Trakend?

Yes. Build your schedule of values, have the GC approve it, then submit G702/G703-style pay applications. Pay apps lock once submitted.

Can my foreman get T&M tickets signed in the field?

Yes. T&M tickets can be signed on screen at the jobsite or uploaded as a signed paper copy, then converted into a change order.

Does Trakend have a time clock for subcontractor crews?

Yes. Crews clock in on a phone or a jobsite kiosk with GPS geofencing, and approved hours export to common payroll providers. An admin turns the time clock on in company settings.
