Construction management software for general contractors
Trakend gives a general contractor one app for the whole job: the field record, the paperwork that moves between you, your subs and the design team, and the billing that pays for it. Flat monthly plans, every feature on every plan, and your subcontractors join free.
One place for everything a GC runs
A typical GC runs daily logs in one app, drawings in another, RFIs in a spreadsheet, pay apps in Excel, and everything else in email. Each tool charges per user, and the subs never get logins, so half the information still arrives by text message.
Trakend replaces that stack with one project record that the office, the field and your subcontractors all work in, at a flat price that doesn't punish you for adding people.
In the field
- Daily reports with automatic weather, crews and man-hours, photos and delays, filled out on a phone.
- JHAs, toolbox talks and incident reports, with crew signatures and 89 toolbox talks in English and Spanish.
- Photos at full resolution, sorted by date and daily report, with bulk ZIP download.
- Checklists and fillable PDF forms for inspections, permits and QA walks, plus a punch list.
- A crew time clock with GPS geofences and a jobsite kiosk, if you self-perform work.
- Finalize Day: one tap emails the day's daily report, JHAs, toolbox talks and incident reports as a single branded PDF to the owner, architect and office.
Project management
- Drawing management: upload the set once, get sheets with numbers and titles, automatic revisions, markups, measuring and RFI pins.
- RFIs and submittals with auto-numbering, ball-in-court, due dates, submittal lead times and combined PDF packages.
- Scheduling: a drag-and-drop Gantt with milestones and baselines, a weekly planner for subs and crews, and a company calendar with feeds for Outlook, Google and Apple Calendar.
- Project messaging, a task board and a company-wide file library.
Money
- Change orders and G702/G703-style pay applications: owner change orders with your OH&P markups, subcontractor change orders, a schedule of values, retainage and approved change orders that flow onto the next pay app.
- T&M tickets signed in the field and converted into change orders, each billable only once.
- Budgets by cost code with committed costs, purchase orders, vendor invoices and expenses with receipts.
- Approvals for change orders, pay apps, invoices, expenses, purchase orders and T&M tickets, each controlled by role.
Your subcontractors join free
Add a subcontractor company in People and send them an invite. Subs never count against your seats. On your projects they can view drawings and add markups, submit RFIs and submittals for you to review, fill out their own JHAs, plan their crews in the weekly planner, and submit their own change orders, schedule of values and pay applications. They only see the projects you give them and only their own company's paperwork; subs never see each other's data. More on how subcontractors use Trakend.
Roles, permissions and control
Built-in roles for Admin, Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman and Worker set sensible defaults: PMs approve and manage money, supers approve daily reports and T&M, and field crews do field work without seeing the books. Every module has view, create, edit, delete, export and approve permissions you can adjust per person, and project access is set per person too. Modules you don't use can be switched off for the whole company; their data is kept.
Your data stays yours
Trakend can sync documents automatically into your company's own Box or OneDrive folders, and an admin can export the entire company (every record plus every photo, drawing and PDF) at any time with no exit fees. Maya, Trakend's AI assistant, answers questions about your jobs, like which RFIs are open or what a past daily report said.
Flat pricing for growing GCs
Plans run from $29.99/month for 2 users to $999/month for Enterprise Unlimited with unlimited users, and every plan includes every feature and a 30-day free trial. See pricing, or compare Trakend with Procore, Buildertrend and Raken.
Frequently asked questions
Do my subcontractors have to pay for Trakend?
No. Subcontractors you add to your projects work in Trakend for free and don't use any of your seats. They see only the projects you give them access to and only their own company's paperwork.
Can I control what superintendents and foremen see?
Yes. Each role has defaults (for example, foremen and workers don't see financial pages), and every module has view, create, edit, delete, export and approve permissions you can change per person.
Does Trakend replace Procore for a mid-size GC?
For many GCs, yes: daily reports, safety, drawings, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, change orders and pay apps are all included, at flat published prices instead of a volume-based quote. See our Procore comparison for details.
Can I get my data out if I leave?
Yes. An admin can export the whole company, every record plus every file, at any time with no exit fee.
Is there a free trial for general contractors?
Every plan has a 30-day free trial, and you can open a live demo account loaded with a sample project in seconds without talking to sales.
