AI assistant for construction field paperwork

Maya is the AI assistant built into Trakend. What Maya is

Maya is an AI assistant that works inside your Trakend account, on the web, in the iPhone and iPad app and in the Android app. She isn't a separate chatbot you copy and paste into. When you ask her to start the day, she creates the real daily report, JHAs and checklists in the right project, using your crews, your project's weather and the rest of what's already in Trakend.

Field paperwork is where most of a superintendent's evening goes. Maya turns one sentence on the jobsite into the paperwork the office, the owner and the safety program need, so the record of the day gets made while the day is still happening.

What Maya can do in the field

Say it the way you'd say it to a person, for example "Hey Maya, start my day: 6 on the grading crew, 4 framers, we're pouring the east slab." Maya can:

• Start the day: create the daily report with each crew, headcount and hours, and fill in the work being done.
• Make a separate JHA for each crew, with the hazards and PPE for that crew's work, ready for the crew to sign.
• Fix the crews when plans change ("the grading crew is 5, not 6") or merge a crew that was added twice.
• Copy yesterday when today is the same crew on the same work.
• Run the morning safety meeting with a toolbox talk, and open the checklists the day needs, like a pre-pour check.
• Write up a T&M ticket for extra work, and draft a change order, including updating the same draft when you correct it.
• Create or update an RFI, and start an incident report.
• Remind someone on the team to finish their paperwork.

Maya reads what's in your projects and answers in plain words, with a link to the record:

• "Who was on site last Tuesday?" or "Is today's daily report done?"
• "What RFIs are still open?" "Any submittals waiting on the architect?"
• "Where are we on billing?" Budget, change orders and pay applications, for people whose role can see money.
• "Pull up sheet A-201" or "find the drawing with the stair details."
• "What's on my plate this week?" Tasks and open items assigned to you.
• "Open the daily reports" takes you straight to the screen.

Talk to her the way you talk on site

• Voice or text. Tap the mic and talk, hold the mic like a walkie-talkie, or type.
• "Hey Maya" from any screen in the phone app, so you don't have to stop and find her. It's turned on per person and pauses on the camera screens.
• She answers out loud, or you can mute her voice.
• Send her a photo from the website and she can use what's in it.
• One conversation everywhere: what you said to Maya on the website, in the phone app or in Messages shows up in all three.

You stay in charge

Maya drafts. People approve. Everything she makes is a normal Trakend record you can open, change, sign or delete, and the usual approvals and Finalize Day still apply before anything goes to an owner or GC.

Maya can only see and change what your own account and role are allowed to. A foreman's Maya can't see the budget if the foreman can't. Under every Maya chat box there's a reminder that she's an AI and can make mistakes, so check quantities, dollar amounts and dates before you submit.

Your data

To answer you, Maya sends your message and the project information she looks up to Trakend's AI service provider. That provider is not allowed to use your content to train its AI models. Some features, like Maya's spoken voice and plan estimating, run on Trakend's own servers. The details are in the privacy policy.

What is an AI assistant for construction?

Can an AI fill out a construction daily report?

Does Maya make a separate JHA for each crew?

Yes. When you start the day with more than one crew, Maya makes one JHA per crew with the hazards and PPE for that crew's work, so each crew signs its own.

Can I talk to Maya hands-free?

Yes. In the Trakend phone app you can turn on "Hey Maya" and say her name from any screen while the app is open. You can also tap or hold the mic, or type.

Does Maya send anything to the owner or GC on her own?

No. Maya creates drafts in your project. Your normal approvals, signatures and Finalize Day still decide what gets sent and when.

Can Maya make mistakes?

Yes. Maya is an AI and can get things wrong, so check quantities, dollar amounts and dates before you submit. Everything she makes can be edited like any other record.

Is my project data used to train AI?

No. Trakend's AI service provider is not allowed to train its models on your content, and Trakend doesn't use your project content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
